Spain: New phase of Operation Pandora repressions - 9 comrades detained

28.10.15: A police operation began at 7AM this morning raiding several homes and properties in the neighborhoods of Sants, Gràcia, Clot and Sant Andreu de Palomar in the city of Barcelona and Manresa. The police action was ordered by the Audiencia Nacional (National Court) and is a continuation of Operation Pandora, which led to the arrest of ten comrades and the preventative imprisonment of seven of them last December. Among the properties searched were Revoltosa social center on Rogent street in the Clot neighborhood and the l'Ateneu Llibertari de Sants on Maria Victoria street where ten police vans were in attendance. When the news was leaked, dozens of people demonstrated in solidarity and took to the streets of Sants marching behind a banner in support of the detainees. Minutes later as the demonstration reached Masnou street two vans of riot police arrived and proceeded to violently suppress the demonstration.

Searches also took place at a house on Perill street in the neighborhood of Gracia, a house in the neighborhood of Santos and other private homes in Sant Andreu de Palomar. Police made a total of 9 arrests. At every place police raided they encircled the whole street and impeded the free movement of the neighborhood. In details leaked to the press by the police they revealed that the operation led to the arrest of 9 people for the alleged crime of "belonging to a criminal organization with terrorist aims."

In response to the raid a call has gone out for demonstrations at 8:00PM at la Plaça del Diamant de la Vila de Gràcia.

Chile: Neither Left Nor Right Nor Democracy Or Fascism!

Insurrection News received and translated:

Anarchic presence at demonstrations 42 years since since the start of the dictatorship in Chile.

In solidarity with the two comrades arrested for possession of incendiary devices.

1. A little about the current situation in Chile

The year 2015 was marked, among other things with the following:

- the revelation of 'corruption' cases regarding the illegal financing of election campaigns involving businessmen and politicians from all sectors. This confirmed for some what was already known about the complicity between political and economic power. These scandals have increased the discrediting of the political elite and triggered widespread social discontent.

- the mobilization of right-wing sectors, similar to what occured in the run-up to the dictatorship in Chile: the visibility of neo-Nazi goup Party for the Defense of Chile (PADECHI), 'citizens against crime' in affluent neighborhoods and the manifestation of landowners, truck owners and some workers against what they label 'Mapuche Terrorism', the latter under the format of a caravan that travelled from the south to the center of the country which was received in Santiago with applause from some citizens and violent rejection from various sectors (Mapuche, leftists of various origins, antifascists etc).

- the arrests of comrades for street fighting and increased penalties for the possession and use of incendiary devices, resulting in the detention of several comrades.

2. Sharing the street with others, but marking a distance of fire with left-wing reformism: anarchic presence in the march for victims of the dictatorship.

On the night of September 11, the day that began 42 years ago with a bloody dictatorship, the suburbs of the city are filled with barricades and clashes with police. A policeman was shot.

Later in the march commemorating the victims of the dictatorship, held in Santiago on Sunday September 13, anarchists and anti-authoritarians, as in other manifestations, usually occupy the street in a march that is convened mainly to a variety of authoritarian and reformist leftist movements.

The manifestation this year was composed of a motley mass of demonstrators, citizens, relatives of missing detainees and those executed by the dictatorship, members of the governing parties (Communist Party and Socialist Party), antifascist hooligans and police. The demonstrators stood in droves with green and red, red and red and black flags posing for the cameras and promoting their organizations.

Amid all this, a very painful sight was the leftist groups that had modified slogans that were originally anti-fascist and insurrectionary anarchist to disseminate propaganda for their vanguardist organizations to suction power and attempt to create new partnerships with themselves at the head. Thus, the cry "Social War against the State and Capital' was appropriated by the 'Libertarian Left' (neo-communist) as "Create popular power against the State and Capital." The historic slogan "Anti-fascist alert! The whole territory becomes anarchists!' was transformed by the Guevarist Youth into the pathetic "Anti-fascist alert! The whole country becomes Guevara." Lacking confrontational discourse and praxis these organizations flirt with radical slogans but strip them of all their original anti-authoritarian and insurrectionary meaning.

Therefore it is important that our discourse and praxis of radical struggle against power becomes evident and palpable and does not become confused with victimhood or tainted with the ideas of others who differ from us with their reformism, verticality and aspirations of power.

In the case of the event in question, the anarchic presence that has always been a minority but this time was even more minoritised , materialized in insurgent propaganda and action - spreading flyers against dictatorship and democracy, in memory and solidarity with our comrades who were murdered and imprisoned by democracy, shouting slogans of war, destroying capitalist infrastructure in the city and setting fire to banks and municipal security booths.

We believe that along with this significant presence it is also important to use our capacity to act autonomously, acting on our ideas by creating attacks to disrupt the imposed normality without waiting for directions from others, deciding ourselves where and when to attack.

3. Solidarity with Claudio and Fabián, arrested and remanded in custody after the riots.

Twenty comrades were charged and released that day for various disorders. However Claudio Valenzuela and fellow university student Fabián Duran were charged with possession of incendiary devices and were remanded in custody following changes to the Arms Control act made by the Social Democratic government of Michelle Bachelet. Such amendments that raise the penalties against those who are arrested carrying Molotov cocktails or other incediary / explosive devices seek to punish the rebels and inhibit insurrectionary action by spreading fear.

The powers of justice have decreed a 45 day period of preventative detention during the investigation.

Insurrectionary solidarity is part of the intensification of the struggle against power through multifaceted action. We must support our comrades in prison but we must not concentrate our endeavours solely on anti-prison struggle but also continue to spread anarchic agitation, because prison is just one part of an authoritarian social order that we must attack in a comprehensive manner.

Solidarity with Claudio, Fabian and all prisoners by continuing the fight in the streets and taking action in the struggle against domination!

Neither bourgeois power or people power!
Neither managers nor acronyms or leaders!
Self-organize autonomously and horizontally attack all forms of authority!

Some anti-authoritarian encapuchadxs,
September 2015.

Denmark: On the recent repression in Copenhagen

Insurrection News received on 17.08.15:

At 5.30 am Thursday August 13, the anti-authoritarian collective BumZen was raided by a gang of masked cops from the police anti-criminal gang unit. They were followed by an army of armed cops, who handcuffed everyone present in the building at the time. The pretext given was that they were looking for participants in a riotous Reclaim The Streets demo the previous weekend. However, it is clear to us that this was a politically motivated operation against the infrastructure of the radical movement.

Although about 25 people were present during the raid, none were allowed to supervise the police while they were searching through their rooms and property. The police picked out the individuals, who had their official address at BumZen to bring them to the cop shop and charge them under paragraph 134a, participation in a riot.

Three other locations were raided the same morning. Two 17-year olds were arrested and remanded, accused of smashing windows at a bank in Østerbro, despite their status as minors and vandalism being a fairly petty charge.

On Saturday August 15 a demonstration took place from Blågårds Plads to BumZen, where there was a people's kitchen. All proceeds collected are being donated to to the prisoners.

Against repression and police brutality!

Solidarity with the prisoners!

Chile: Update on the case against anarchist comrades Juan, Nataly & Enrique

On Sunday August 2, 2015 Prosecutor Raul Guzman and the miserable Claudio Orellana from the Southern District Attorney's office decided to orchestrate a new maneuver against the comrades Juan, Nataly and Enrique.

This time the pompous theatrics were centered on realizing a 'crime scene reconstruction' with the presence of diligent witnesses and 'victims' of  the attack that took place on September 8, 2014 at the Subcentro outside Escuela Militar metro station in Santiago.

Neither Juan, Nataly or Enrique were present at the reconstruction but there were a large number of plaintiff attorneys accompanying 18 of the 22 victims. The Office of the Prosecutor sought to coach each of the victims regarding where they were positioned at the time of the explosion to ensure that all of their testimonies are consistent at the upcoming trial.

The performance lasted over 5 hours with prosecutors, lawyers, the police and the press all serenading the victims and offering threatening condemnations against the imprisoned comrades.

Finally, as the day was finishing, the opportunistic and mercenary Maria Elena Santibanez, a lawyer from the Legal Clinic who initiated the individual lawsuits against the comrades presented a new claim from a 'victim' who has now decided to be part of the lawsuits.

Juan, Nataly and Enrique to the streets!

Abolish the anti-terrorism act and abolish all laws of the police state!

Czech Republic: Network of Revolutionary Cells (SRB) torch a cop car in response to Operation Fenix

SRB (Network of Revolutionary Cells communique: Police car torched in response to Operation Fenix

In the early hours of Saturday, July 4, 2015 we torched a police car outside the Praha-Bubny police station. This was in response to the police and state repression against anarchists. Since April 28, 2015 when the police launched 'Operation Fenix', four anarchists have been arrested and held in custody. Wild Heart Cell sends a message with this sabotage: We will not tolerate such violence by the state and we will fight against it!

With the launch of 'Operation Fenix' cops have declared war against the anarchist movement. They thought they could scare us into giving up. They have made a mistake, we will never give up. We are moving into counterattack.

They want to suffocate the resistance but they only add more fuel to the fire.

Melbourne, Australia: Solidarity with the Ravenhall Remand Centre rioters!

Melbourne, Australia, 01.07.15: Hundreds of prisoners at the Metropolitan Remand Centre in Ravenhall have rioted in response to a state-wide ban on smoking in all of the state of Victoria's prison hell-holes. The prisoners attacked screws, lit fires, rammed an exit door, torched prison vehicles and stormed a control room during what the cops are describing as one of the biggest prison riots in recent history. All prison staff were evacuated from the prison and heavily armed police goon squads entered the prison deploying tear gas in an attempt to suppress the riot. The riot began at around 12:20PM on 30.06.15 and continued until 03:00AM on 01:07:15 when the cops finally suppressed the uprising. There are reports from the corporate scum media that several prisoners were injured in the riot and that at least 2 screws got battered. As a result of the riot the entire prison system in Victoria is now on complete lockdown.

In response to the riot a snap action was held at a traditional First Nations meeting spot in the inner-city Melbourne suburb of Collingwood by First Nations Liberation (FNL) and their supporters in solidarity with the rioting prisoners. In the state of Victoria, First Nations peoples only make up 1% of the population but make up 30% of Victoria's prison population - this over-representation of First Nations people in the prison system is a direct result of the unceasing genocide that has been waged against First Nations people since the arrival of the colonists in the territories now commonly referred to as Australia in 1788. Afterwards a small group of anarchists painted graffiti on a nearby wall in solidarity with the rioters.

Solidarity and strength to the Ravenhall rioters who kept the screws and heavily armed cops at bay for almost 15 hours armed only with makeshift weapons, their fists and a fierce will to resist!

Greece: Personal vehicles of cops torched in memory of Spyros Dravilas

SPYROS DRAVILAS’ LAST FLIGHT

Absolutely true accounts of prisoners back then, say that when Spyros Dravilas (who until then pretended to be a rich kid who liked to fly around with helicopters) ordered the pilot to fly down over the prisons of Korydallos, Vassilis Paleokostas was waving a red banner with Che Guevara on it, in order to signal the landing spot in the yard of the 1st wing.

What an unbelievably beautiful moment when “… one more attack on this world was put into motion…”.

Spyros Dravilas lived the years that followed on the edge, with moments of attack on the world of uniformed murderers, of money, of snitching, of the correctional beast. And maybe his exit could not
have been carried out in a less absolute way than the way he lived.

So in order for us to honour his memory, on Monday June 8th we torched the personal vehicles of cops on Dikearhou Street in Gouva area and Grammou Street in Marousi area. The memory of Spyros Dravilas should remain for ever alive in the  thoughts of those who continue the war, inside and outside the prisons.

A raised fist and strength to anarchist Grigoris Tsironis and to Spyros Christodoulou.

Italy: Court confirms 6 year sentence for Davide Rosci

Italy, 07.06.15: The Supreme Court confirmed the conviction for the riots in Rome in October 2011 (see here) when an armored vehicle of the police officers was attacked and set on fire. Sentence of six years confirmed to Davide Rosci and other defendants from the city of Teramo, Cristian Quatraccioni and Mauro Gentile. The prosecution: destruction and looting (by italian old-fascist law). Appeals postponed the judgment to Marco Moscardelli. All have already served half of the sentence, Rosci has left home two weeks ago. To Rosci condemnation of First Instance to six years had been confirmed because he had not been recognized extenuating circumstances. The recognition of extenuating circumstances had reduced to 4 years and 8 months of the sentence to Quatraccioni Cristian, 33y/o, and 5 years for Marco Moscardelli, 33y/o.

On his Facebook profile, Rosci wrote

The Dante’s circle where I entered seems to be a dead-end. The Supreme Court of Cassation has confirmed for me, Mauro and Mirko penalties established by the Court of Appeals while Marco was canceled and postponed the sentence on Appeal. On this we celebrate. There is little to say, and unfortunately nothing to do so for the moment the only thing that is stopping to reflect on what was happened and to organized on what will be.

Soon the sentence will be final and the prospects are two: or go back inside in jail or find a stable job, for one like me who is released from prison, there are no certainly opportunities so I take advantage of this post in hopes of finding some kind soul who stumbles in reading these lines, to keep me this if you become aware of any use. I think I have given everything to the cause and I hope I can give so much more but for the moment I have to stay lucid and avoid becoming cannon fodder.

This will pass too…

Around 7pm Rosci was locked up back in prison in Castrogno.

Solidarity to all comrades hit for the October 15th!

Greece: Solidarity with the arrested comrades Grigoris Tsironis & Spyros Christodoulou and in active insurrectionary memory of Spyros Dravilas

20 May 2015 – Greek police terror operation results in the arrest of two comrades and the execution of Spyros Dravilas:

Living a dignified path under the most adverse conditions

The police operation in Nea Aghialos on 20.5.2015 was crowned as a “success”. The TV cannibals stand over our friend’s dead body and scream: Grigoris Tsironis, Spiros Christodoulou and the deceased Spyros Dravilas are ruthless robbers and blood-thirsty murderers.

Grigoris was and remains a comrade. From his first arrests, a result of his participation in the Polytechnic occupation in 1995 and the struggles against the regeneration of Exarchia square in 1997, up to his participation in dozens of dynamic interventions of the anarchist movement and his active presence as a worker in the courier syndicate, Grigoris was always by our side. A fugitive as of January 2006 after the expropriation of a National Bank on Solonos street, he lived ten years of battle and survival against capitalism and its repressive mechanisms.

With a bounty on his head since 2009 for the same case and targeted all these years, he managed to maintain his humanity and militancy despite the adversities and the hunt set up against him by the modern persecution squad.

Spyros Christodoulou was and remains an unrepentant proletarian who carved and carves his own dignified path under the most adverse conditions: prison and illegality.

Just like Spyros Dravilas… He had tasted it from the age of 21 when he first came into contact with the harsh reality of incarceration. Since then, with many years on his back as a prisoner, escapee and fugitive up to the age of 34 when he consciously rejected the lengthy deprivation of his freedom. He refused, like very few can, to see himself walking through those miserable corridors and cells of the correctional hell-holes, leaving the last years of an unsubjugated youth in the modern galleys.

WE DO NOT FORGIVE – WE DO NOT FORGET

SOLIDARITY TO THE ARRESTEES, GRIGORIS TSIRONIS AND SPYROS CHRISTODOULOU

FIRE TO THE PRISONS

******

Statement by Grigoris Tsironis from inside the cell of the 12th floor of GADA police headquarters, Athens

A cycle of 9 years of freedom in clandestinity closes perhaps in the worst way. With the death of our brother Spyros Dravilas. I want to express my warmest condolences and wish courage to his family. Spiros, now forever free, will always live in my heart and mind. Just like all those whose remain hunted in the uncharted paths of freedom. Keep strong brothers and sisters…

Concluding, from inside the cell of the 12th floor of GADA (Athens police headquarters), I send my greetings to the imprisoned comrades and I wish them freedom and to meet them again.

P.S. I would like to give my thanks and gratitude to those who all these years knowingly or not helped me and gave me moments of joy, happiness and comradeship.

Grigoris Tsironis

Spain: National Court orders closure of Operation Pandora solidarity bank accounts

Barcelona, Spain, 01.06.15: Upon the request of the Information Brigade of the National Police the National Court has issued an order signed by judge Eloy Velasco that orders the closure of solidarity bank accounts that were opened for comrades who were arrested and detained during the Operation Pandora repressions. The judge has also ordered an investigation into the owners of the accounts as well as all transfers and transactions related to the accounts.

This is yet another escalation in the Spanish state's war against dissent and the anarchist movement in particular. Not only is the state attempting to criminalize the anarchist movement it is also seeking to characterize it as a 'terrorist' movement and to label those who merely show basic solidarity as being 'terrorist sympathizers.'

Strength and solidarity to the anarchists in Spain facing repression from the Spanish police state!

Australia: Patty Mark, founder of Animal Liberation Victoria arrested for rescuing abused hens

66 year old grandmother and founder of Animal Liberation Victoria Patty Mark was arrested on 27.05.15 for her role in the rescue of abused hens.

Patty was released and is facing charges of burglary, theft and criminal damage. What is wrong with a system that arrests someone trying to help abused animals, while ignoring the person responsible for allowing those animals to suffer and die?

Chile: Barricades & clashes outside University of Santiago for Mauricio Morales

19.05.15: With burning barricades we once again commemorated the death of Mauricio Morales who died in combat when the explosive device he was taking to the prison guard's school exploded prematurely.

The fire unleashed today expands like splinters of your freedom!

"Today through the black smoke of our tires, the searing heat of our barricades and the insolence of our insurrectionary act we remember your irreducible life, your eternal love for freedom and your beautiful wish for the whole establishment to fall.

To destroy the last bastion of prison society!

Mauricio Morales, killed in action on May 22nd, 2009."

24.05.15: Four comrades including two anarchists from Revolutionary Anarchist Action/DAF were arrested and one was injured during an attack by police yesterday in Kadıköy, İstanbul at a protest organised by the Construction Workers Union calling for a humanitarian aid and supply corridor to be opened to Kobane.

Lat night people were waiting outside Kadıköy Rıhtım Police Station, they had been informed that those arrested will be kept in the station tonight and will be transferred to the Public Prosecutor following their refusal to give statements to police.

DAF said: "We will keep on fighting against the Turkish state's repression against Kobane. Long live revolutionary anarchism! Long live the Rojava Revolution!"

Repression against anarchists in Malaysia

Police in Malaysia have launched a witch hunt for two anarchists who they are accusing of being the 'masterminds' of the anarchist May Day demonstration in Kuala Lumpur during which a bank window was smashed by rocks and the bank's security guard was slightly injured.

Police are alleging they found a bag left behind at the bank that led them to a 30 year old factory worker from Shah Alam. The worker's house was raided on May 2nd and a number of items were seized including posters, a Guy Fawkes / Anonymous mask, pamphlets, a slingshot and some smoke bombs.

Police held a press conference on May 26th with the seized items on display and released photos of two anarchists named Markio and Ocha who they say they now want to arrest and charge under Section 148 and Section 4 (using corrosive or explosive substances or offensive weapons) of the Malaysian criminal code. Of course the scum press in Malaysia happily obliged the police by immediately broadcasting their photos and issuing 'news reports' that just repeated everything the police said word for word.

Solidarity With The Wanted Comrades Markio And Ocha!

Solidarity With The Malaysian Anarchist Movement!

Fuck The Malaysian Police!

Czech Republic: Solidarity against Operation Fénix

On Tuesday, April 28 the Czech police, apparently inspired by their European colleagues, launched a series of repressions against the anarchist movement under the name of "Operation Fénix." Within the context of this operation arrests, house searches, the seizure of servers and interrogations took place. Three anarchists still remain behind the walls of the remand prison while the others remain in 'freedom' waiting to be judged.

The whole event was presented as a police crackdown on 'terrorists' - a label that was readily and willingly embraced by the media who then legitimized the police actions by inducing and nurturing panic within the general public.

It is not surprising that actions have been conducted with the aim of suppressing the growing anarchist movement in the Czech Republic as our struggle against inequality via self-organizaton without relying on official institutions or their laws is very undesirable for the state.

The history of 'terrorism' tells us that the state themselves do not hesitate to use the tactics of terror and injustice - whether it's police repression, the wars waged by armies, anti social policies and ubiquitous camera surveillance sanctioned by municipal authorities or the exploitation of workers by employers.

So who are the real 'criminals' and 'terrorists'?

The arrest and indictiments against our comrades show that it is the state who are the terorists not us! We build unity, create alternatives and reveal who robs and exploits us!

We call for the immediate cessation of police persecutions!

Stop the prosecutions and withdraw all the charges!

We express our solidarity with our comrades and we will continue to fight!

*Note: text on illustration reads: Repression can never stop freedom!

Mexico City: Barricade at CCH Vallejo in solidarity with prisoners & for a Black June

On May 11, 25 encapuchadxs (hooded ones) blocked the avenue 100 meters away from the entrance of the College of Science and Humanities in Vallejo. This street agitation came as a response to the calls for a Black June (boycott of the upcoming general elections in June) and as a way to honor the anti-authoritarian compañeros Fernando Bárcenas, Miguel Betanzos, Luis Sotelo and Abraham Cortés who are currently imprisoned in the dungeons of the Mexican state.

The barricade lasted for more than an hour during which police from the Federal District approached several times. Eventually the encapuchadxs used homemade firecrackers to cover their retreat. At the end of the action a police roadblock one block away from the barricade was attacked with stones and firecrackers which forced the police to abandon the site.

Canada: Jennifer Pawluck convicted for posting photo of anti-police graffiti online

via the Canadian scum press

A woman who posted a photo of graffiti depicting a senior Montreal police officer with a bullet in his head has received a suspended sentence. Jennifer Pawluck was found guilty in April of criminal harassment for snapping a photo of the street art and uploading it to Instagram in 2013.

The judge agreed with a joint suggestion that the 22-year-old Pawluck be given a suspended sentence, 18 months probation and 100 hours community service. She is forbidden from using Instagram, Facebook or Twitter for one year except to send private messages. Pawluck is also prohibited from posting anything about police or anyone associated with the judicial system.
Montreal police Cmdr. Ian Lafreniere, a high-profile spokesman, told the court that knowledge the graffiti was being shared shook him, scared his children and forced his wife to take a leave from work.

Fuck Ian Lafreniere and the Montreal police, solidarity and complicity with Jennifer!

Chile: Armed attack against Quilcura police station in Santiago

Police forces carried out a series of checkpoints in the Parinacota población on April 16 2015. Two women were detained with molotovs and flammable liquid and taken to the police station. A short while after these arrests a burst of gunfire was unleashed against the 49° Police Staion of Quilicura. Of the 20 shots fired, 6 directly struck the windows of the police station leaving no one wounded.
After the shots, the repressive pack of dogs rushed out to besiege the different poblaciones without being able to arrest or link anyone to the shots fired at their station. The following day the minister of the interior went to visit the police brothel, and their own neighbors told him the barrage against the police station was due to the violence with which the police keep the poblacion besieged.
Stop aiming the weapons in the poblaciones at the oppressed!
Aim and fire at repression!
