Chile: Incendiary attack against the Chilean Air Force by Fire & Consciousness cell (FAI-IRF)

In a political scenario of obvious decomposition of the traditional representative forces comes a  wide range of proposals seeking to reform the model of domination by constructing 'popular' ways to administer power, our choice continues to be a complete break from the world of authority as the only way out from the catastrophe of domination.

And with this break, direct attacks against the institutions and representatives of power continue to propagate the need for individual and collective revolt for the destruction of the existant social order as our search for freedom continues.

Armed with these ideas transformed into a few grams of gunpowder, a few liters of gasoline and a trigger mechanism that allowed us time to make a safe exit, we launched an incendiary attack in the early hours of October 6th against the Chilean Air Force Personnel Command Religious Service building located on Cienfuegos street in central Santiago. This was carried out at such a time and with a small incendiary load in order to prevent passers-by being harmed as they are not the target of our attacks.

For reasons unknown to us, our device did not generate the damage we expected it to. However, when looking at the effectiveness of this action, the  planning, implementation and realization of it alone shows that anarchist attack is still possible - that power is vulnerable and not everything is under their control.

The motivation for our action was not just impunity towards the repression that occurred during the dictatorship, but also the very existence of the Armed Forces itself that we struck as part of the continuous attack against all manifestations of the State (democratic, dictatorial, popular) and against all forms of domination.

With this action we continue the trajectory that was initiated by other revolutionaries who engaged in armed struggle against the impunity of the repressors that has been sustained by the  agreement between the current ruling elite and the agents of the dictatorship that ensured a peacefully negotiated transition towards democracy.

Once more we call on all enemies of oppression to contribute to the diffusion of attacks against power as part of the broad struggle of confrontation to regain our lives.

Rebellious actions and the fires of insurrection can materialize in many ways however we need to sharpen our discourse and our praxis so that simple acts connect with more forceful actions.

It is important that these actions are well planned but it is equally crucial to sharpen our awareness of our actions and their consequences.  The correspondence between types of discourse and types of action always calls for a break from the complacency that ensnares the struggle and to break from the idea of violence against oppressors being motivated purely by simple youthful adrenaline.

All actions contribute, but not all are the same.

Strengthening and deepening our ideas prevents situations such as the placing of a banner being claimed with guerrilla style language or incendiary / explosive actions being claimed with simplistic 'against everything and for nothing' type discourse.

Let's dispense with the vagueness and self-referential pompousness.

We did not invent gunpowder, in other words we are not super humans who are removed from reality. We are anti-authoritarian comrades conspiring in affinity and informality speaking with facts to call for the diffusion of attacks against power. We face not only the servants of authority who condemn acts of revolutionary violence but also those who minimize their inaction via critiques that make accusations of militaristic fetishism.

Anybody who believes that the attacks can be further enhanced, then get to work! We have already begun.

Once again our thoughts are with all the comrades in prison. Much strength to Juan Flores and Nataly Casanova; to Marcelo Villaroel, Juan Aliste and Freddy Fuentevilla; Natalia Collado and Javier Pino; Gabriel Pombo Da Silva, Francisco Solar and Monica Caballero in Spain; Alfredo Cospito and Nicola Gai in Italy; Fernando Barcenas who is recovering from two hunger strikes in Mexico; Marco Camenish in Switzerland; and to the comrades of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire in Greece.

Greetings to all anti-authoritarian action groups around the world and to all Informal Anarchist Federation cells.

FOR THE PROLIFERATION OF AUTONOMOUS AND ANTI-AUTHORITARIAN GROUPS OF ATTACK IN AFFINITY VIA INFORMAL COORDINATION.

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY AGAINST ALL IDEOLOGY, SOCIETY AND POWER.

Chile: Neither Left Nor Right Nor Democracy Or Fascism!

Insurrection News received and translated:

Anarchic presence at demonstrations 42 years since since the start of the dictatorship in Chile.

In solidarity with the two comrades arrested for possession of incendiary devices.

1. A little about the current situation in Chile

The year 2015 was marked, among other things with the following:

- the revelation of 'corruption' cases regarding the illegal financing of election campaigns involving businessmen and politicians from all sectors. This confirmed for some what was already known about the complicity between political and economic power. These scandals have increased the discrediting of the political elite and triggered widespread social discontent.

- the mobilization of right-wing sectors, similar to what occured in the run-up to the dictatorship in Chile: the visibility of neo-Nazi goup Party for the Defense of Chile (PADECHI), 'citizens against crime' in affluent neighborhoods and the manifestation of landowners, truck owners and some workers against what they label 'Mapuche Terrorism', the latter under the format of a caravan that travelled from the south to the center of the country which was received in Santiago with applause from some citizens and violent rejection from various sectors (Mapuche, leftists of various origins, antifascists etc).

- the arrests of comrades for street fighting and increased penalties for the possession and use of incendiary devices, resulting in the detention of several comrades.

2. Sharing the street with others, but marking a distance of fire with left-wing reformism: anarchic presence in the march for victims of the dictatorship.

On the night of September 11, the day that began 42 years ago with a bloody dictatorship, the suburbs of the city are filled with barricades and clashes with police. A policeman was shot.

Later in the march commemorating the victims of the dictatorship, held in Santiago on Sunday September 13, anarchists and anti-authoritarians, as in other manifestations, usually occupy the street in a march that is convened mainly to a variety of authoritarian and reformist leftist movements.

The manifestation this year was composed of a motley mass of demonstrators, citizens, relatives of missing detainees and those executed by the dictatorship, members of the governing parties (Communist Party and Socialist Party), antifascist hooligans and police. The demonstrators stood in droves with green and red, red and red and black flags posing for the cameras and promoting their organizations.

Amid all this, a very painful sight was the leftist groups that had modified slogans that were originally anti-fascist and insurrectionary anarchist to disseminate propaganda for their vanguardist organizations to suction power and attempt to create new partnerships with themselves at the head. Thus, the cry "Social War against the State and Capital' was appropriated by the 'Libertarian Left' (neo-communist) as "Create popular power against the State and Capital." The historic slogan "Anti-fascist alert! The whole territory becomes anarchists!' was transformed by the Guevarist Youth into the pathetic "Anti-fascist alert! The whole country becomes Guevara." Lacking confrontational discourse and praxis these organizations flirt with radical slogans but strip them of all their original anti-authoritarian and insurrectionary meaning.

Therefore it is important that our discourse and praxis of radical struggle against power becomes evident and palpable and does not become confused with victimhood or tainted with the ideas of others who differ from us with their reformism, verticality and aspirations of power.

In the case of the event in question, the anarchic presence that has always been a minority but this time was even more minoritised , materialized in insurgent propaganda and action - spreading flyers against dictatorship and democracy, in memory and solidarity with our comrades who were murdered and imprisoned by democracy, shouting slogans of war, destroying capitalist infrastructure in the city and setting fire to banks and municipal security booths.

We believe that along with this significant presence it is also important to use our capacity to act autonomously, acting on our ideas by creating attacks to disrupt the imposed normality without waiting for directions from others, deciding ourselves where and when to attack.

3. Solidarity with Claudio and Fabián, arrested and remanded in custody after the riots.

Twenty comrades were charged and released that day for various disorders. However Claudio Valenzuela and fellow university student Fabián Duran were charged with possession of incendiary devices and were remanded in custody following changes to the Arms Control act made by the Social Democratic government of Michelle Bachelet. Such amendments that raise the penalties against those who are arrested carrying Molotov cocktails or other incediary / explosive devices seek to punish the rebels and inhibit insurrectionary action by spreading fear.

The powers of justice have decreed a 45 day period of preventative detention during the investigation.

Insurrectionary solidarity is part of the intensification of the struggle against power through multifaceted action. We must support our comrades in prison but we must not concentrate our endeavours solely on anti-prison struggle but also continue to spread anarchic agitation, because prison is just one part of an authoritarian social order that we must attack in a comprehensive manner.

Solidarity with Claudio, Fabian and all prisoners by continuing the fight in the streets and taking action in the struggle against domination!

Neither bourgeois power or people power!
Neither managers nor acronyms or leaders!
Self-organize autonomously and horizontally attack all forms of authority!

Some anti-authoritarian encapuchadxs,
September 2015.

Chile: Coordinated incendiary attacks against telecommunications infrastructure by FAI-IRF

Insurrection News received and translated:

I. "This instant that won’t be forgotten
So empty when thrown back by the shadows
So empty when rejected by clocks
This wretched moment taken by my tenderness
Stripped naked, naked of the blood of the wings
Robbed of eyes to remember the angst of yesteryear
Of lips to scoop up the juice of the violence
Lost in the tolling of frozen belfries."

In the current context of recent state reforms that have resulted in increased sentences for the possession and use of incendiary devices and/or explosives, coupled with the many cases of imprisonments related to insurrectionist violence (bombings, burning of buses and incendiary actions by encapuchados outside universities), one might be made to think that there is no longer any space for offensive actions against Dominion and it's normality, the perfect excuse for those who have always found justifications for postponing their own revolt against the existent.

However, the long history of revolts, rebellions and conspiracies shows us that the systems of domination have always been and always will be vulnerable, and that it is always possible to find space for revolt and direct attack against the structures, symbols, institutions and representatives of oppression.

But something else is also true, and this is that the vulnerability of Dominion only becomes evident when our acts of disobedience and our desires for freedom slip through the fissures in the dominant social order; striking it, wounding it, becoming uncontrollable and dangerous to their plans of domination.

That is why we are still here and why we will remain here, continuing to defy authority by spreading with our actions the idea that the insurgent rebellious will depends on acts of revolt that do not stop.

II. "But for us everything changed when we decided to live like warriors instead of slaves. We honour our grief and frustration, our loneliness and insecurity, by neither suppressing or surrendering to them: we take these broken pieces of self in our hands to craft victim into fighter, and stand proud as antagonists in this world. To attack what attacks us." - FAI-IRF comrades in the UK

The relationships of authority, power and submission have expressed themselves throughout history and in the present via a multiplicity of practices, models and systems of domination.

Throughout the exploitation and dominion over nature and over human beings and other animals, each model of domination (patriarchy, caste system, industrial/financial/technological/capitalism etc) materializes by means of authoritarian relations between individuals sustained via interaction with a wide range of buildings, objects, goods, infrastructure and representatives such as politicians, businessmen, police officers, military men, journalists, scientists, lawyers and other servants of the powerful as well as drug traffickers, Johns, clergyman and so on who are able to do what they please in order to maintain their privileges largely due to the absence of insurgent activity combined with the apathy, fear and/or complacency of the civil and exploited masses.

Therefore every action that aims directly at the representatives of dominion and/or at it's industrial and technological infrastructure, although it may not in itself tear down the whole of dominion, still interrupts and obstructs the flow of information, goods and social relationships that enable the everyday continuance of the imposed order.

It is the multiplication and proliferation of these types of actions that makes them a direct threat, something that only be achieved by breaking the lethargy and taking to the streets armed with our desire for freedom and a determination to leave concrete wounds in the network of domination.

III "...only when we decide to put our lives totally at stake, when individually or with our comrades in affinity, we strike power right where we can do more harm, only then do we have total control of our lives and are able to say with joy and serenity that we are making our revolution. By realizing a perspective of direct attack we are freeing ourselves from the obstruction of defensive struggles and opening infinite possibilities of action and freedom."  - Nicola Gai, a member of Olga Cell, FAI-IRF

How can we sit and watch the days go on and on without acting, without going on the offensive, without taking an active role in the struggle against domination?

For us this intolerable which is why opted for the risk of anarchy rather than living our lives removed from struggle waiting for future insurrectionist moments.

Because it is our actions in the present that are the only things that we have to demonstrate who we are and what we want.

Because it is in the polymorphic offensive action and the attack on the expressions of dominion where our present existence acquires real meaning.

On this occasion, united as groups with similar affinities, we coordinated our forces with a common objective.

Without annulling the particularities or the autonomy of each group, we freely agreed to act in a coordinated manner on the morning of Tuesday, August 25 by installing three incendiary devices with chemical delay mechanisms.

One of them was successfully installed in the underground wiring of the fiber optic network of Entel, the main telecommunications company in Chile. This attack was carried out in the center of the city of Santiago on Avenida Alameda.

The other two incendiary devices were installed within the structure of a cellular phone tower in the community of La Reina, at the intersection of Mariano Sanchez Fontecilla and Troncos Viejos. One of the devices was placed in the electrical feeder of the tower and the other was installed in its cables. Both devices were activated successfully at approximately 2AM, resulting in serious damage to the target.

We claim these coordinated actions as a minimum expression of experimental forms of attack that seek to hinder by means of sabotage the normal functioning and technological progress of the current system of domination. By building on the connections between our groups rather than the differences we are creating the possibilities of actions in the present, through trial and error, always cautious with our steps.

We know that we are not the first and that this has been a path forged with fire and gunpowder by other groups in this territory. There has already been more than 15 years of attacks by autonomous and anti-authoritarian groups in post-dictatorship Chile.

We send greetings to all the comrades locked up inside the prisons of Chile and around the world, to all the groups of anarchistic action and to all cells of the Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front.

TO DESTROY POWER WITH FIRE, GUNPOWDER AND GASOLINE!
TO TAKE BACK THE LIFE THAT THEY HAVE STOLEN FROM US!
TO INCREASE THE ACTIONS OF ATTACK AGAINST DOMINATION!

Chile: Words from anarchist prisoner Sergio Álvarez in memory of Sebastián 'Angry' Oversluij

Insurrection News received and translated:

Greetings comrades, I write these words and give them all my love in response to the call for a week of action in memory of our fallen brother in combat Sebastián Oversluij that was carried out this week.

In my current position as a prisoner it has been hard to find out many details about this but in the context of the individual and collective actions undertaken by comrades outside there arises in me the need to contribute, although it is a minimum gesture of solidarity, it is important to use whatever weapons are available to continue in a combative manner to remember a comrade who gave his life and his death in the struggle against Power, Authority and all of it's Domination.

This is why on Thursday along with comrade Ignacio Muñoz who is imprisoned in module 34, we fasted in solidarity, understanding that our bodies can and should be positioned as one more front from where we can attack. And although fasting or hunger strikes did not correlate with the character of this particular call for action which was  more focused on street graffiti, banners, posters, leaflets etc; I believe that each individual with every one of their circumstances, possibilities and contexts should contribute instances that arise from their memories and seek to generate a projectuality of the conflict.

This is how I have understood this gesture for Angry, as an exercise of combative memory, for although we have only known each other in a tangential manner, we were able to connect via the tensions that mobilize our bodies, via the principles that guide us, each on their own path towards total liberation.

I value these instances but I feel that to be limited to only one type of action, as in this case the visual propaganda, is to mute the potentiality of actions that can be born of impulses and feelings of complicity with Angry that range from how to breathe this dirty air up to the exercise of the nihilistic / anti-authoritarian / anarchic minority violence.

I believe that it is necessary to multiply each of the methods that we have to confront Power, therefore it must be remembered in a practical way how the comrade died - expropriating a bank in rejection of wage-earning work, and how he aspired to live life free and autonomously in direct combat with the values and conventions imposed by the society of domination. That's why I believe that these moments are opportunities for meeting accomplices and creating informal affinity networks to enrich and nourish us. Well, this is all that I have to say for the time being. A huge hug to those who continue to fight both in the prisons and on the street.

Sebastián Oversluij “Angry” present!

NOTHING HAS ENDED, EVERYTHING CONTINUES
Long Live Anarchy

Missing and waiting for a new meeting with you my brothers and sisters.

Chile: Update on anarchist prisoner Natalia 'Tato' Collado

On August 15th anarchist prisoner Natalia 'Tato' Collado was transferred from the S.A.R (High Security Section - the isolation module) back to the 'Public Connotation' module where anarchist comrade Nataly Casanova is also held. Tato had been in the isolation module since July 27th as punishment for her rebellious and defiant stance against the prison guards

At this stage Tato has not been able to share a cell again with Nataly however she is out of isolation now and back in a module where the conditions are a lot less suffocating and restrictive.

Let's not forget that the comrades Natalia and Maria Paz are still being held in the S.A.R., accused of the arson attack against a barracks of the Homicide Investigation Police

Solidarity and insurgent affinity with the imprisoned comrades!

Chile: Reflections From Some Comrades...Please Share Widely

Insurrection News received on 11.08.15 and translated:

About the recent arrests following the street clashes

As is known, in recent months there have been a series of arrests of juveniles accused of participating in riots and clashes with the repressive forces during actions carried out by encapuchados (hooded ones) outside universities. Some of them now remain in various regimes of imprisonment, from house arrest to remand.

Some comrades have already reflected on the role of selective state repression and the lengths that the authorities will go to in their attempts at removing the various forms of conflict against the established order.

We encapuchados use insurgent violence against the forces of oppression as part of a multifaceted struggle for total liberation. We believe that it is up to us to ensure that our methods of fighting do not end up dying with us therefore we feel it is important to disseminate some of our analyses and reflections.

1. The repressive situation.

It is evident when analyzing the repressive situation, that the authorities have been expanding the range of repressive sectors beyond the known internal enemies (urepentant former Marxist guerrillas, insurrectionist anarchists and Mapuche militants) to plant the fear of punishment for radical mobilizations among students and others who undertake various struggles within society.

This is already foreseen and announced in the context of "demonstrations and social unrest" during which the authorities try to impose the view that the only way to transform the system is via adjustments to established institutions using peaceful democratic methods.

To achieve this end, as well as deploying their communication and journalistic army, the authorities fine tune their legal mechanisms, tightening the Firearms Control Act in parallel with the Patriot Act, to punish dissenters and to instill fear to inhibit acts of rebellion and revolutionary violence.

2. Not everything is secure: against victimization and the idea that everything is staged

A very serious error that is made when the authorities unleash their repression is to let it flow without any resistance or an offensive on our part, as well as thinking that the enemy has us all under surveillance making it impossible to carry out conspiracies, attacks and acts of violence against them.

A recurring notion to combat is the idea of the assemblies which for many is usually the first defensive speech (almost as a wildcard) at the time of facing the repression. This idea is usually accompanied by the idea of the innocent victim and the 'right to protest.'

Contrary to the above, the insurrectionist anarchist position and years of experience in this and other areas suggests that it is possible to maintain revolutionary coherence whilst simultaneously rejecting the charges and accusations imposed by the authorities, without assuming or validating the logic of guilty and innocent that are created by the judicial and legal mechanisms of the state.

Also, it is important to combat the idea of assemblies in relation to the stupid belief that every attack action always comes from the police. Of course the authorities often plant evidence against those they want to harm, but it is ridiculous to discard the idea that individuals are free, conscious and autonomously able to organize, plan and carry out attacks against authority and it's normality.

Our position is not that of young students or 'social activists' who struggle with their hands clean and demonstrate peacefully. We position ourselves as the declared enemies of all forms of authority who are willing to organize ourselves to make molotov cocktails, erect barricades and attack the police with our faces covered so that we are not detected by the eyes of repression.

3. Non-stop action

This is a moment where it is necessary to strengthen ourselves as individuals and as anarchist action groups.

This is a propitious time to deepen our critique of the social order as a whole, promoting in practice the rejection of the rules and standards of repentance and victimhood that society promotes.

It is of utmost importance to defend the street fighting in the spaces of combat that were won with decades of insurrectionist practice and to also combine it with other practices of revolt in new spaces - something that was understood and implemented by the comrades who erected barricades in several places in the city just a few days ago

By remaining vigilant we can minimise risks and recklessness during combat. Always keep in mind that when it comes to the proliferation and continuity of autonomous action we must activate our creative potential to insure the attack is diffuse and informal so that the enemy is not able to predict our every move.

Let's not give way to the fear, silence and immobility imposed by the authorities to halt the insurrectionist advance!

Let's sharpen our discourse and our action!

Solidarity with the prisoners of the street clashes and all the comrades abducted by the authorities!

Chile: Anarchist prisoner Sergio Alvarez transferred to new wing

Insurrection News received and transmits (edited for clarity):

Anarchist comrade Sergio Alvarez was transferred to the 33rd. wing of 'Santiago 1' prison, after staying for more than a week in a temporary wing.

In that wing, he can not have contact with other anarchist prisoners, who are kept separated in different wings of the same prison.

Anarchist comrade Sergio Alvarez was arrested on Wednesday, July 15 in the context of clashes between police and encapuchados (hooded ones) outside the University of Chile in Santiago. He was formalized for possession of an incendiary device, disorder and aggression against the police.

Sergio´s posture is not about “young student victim of a frame-up”, but he has positioned himself as an anarchic/anti authoritarian individual in confrontation with Power.

You can get more info and leave messages of solidarity for Sergio via this email:  laguerracontinua@riseup.net

Greece: poster about the cases of Evi Statiri, Athena Tsaklou & Nikos Romanos

"Reach what you cannot" - N. Kazantsakis

For four months the state has held Evi Statiri, the life companion of comrade G. Tsakalos in prison and has kept Athena Tsakalou, the mother of G. and C. Tsakalos isolated on the island of Salamina depriving her of the ability to have contact with her children.

These persecutions serve as the state's revenge for the war initiated by the members of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, a war that they continue to fight even from within prison walls where they still seek their freedom, preparing themselves for the destruction of their prison.

The comrades Aggeliki Spyropoulou and Christos Rodopoulous are in custody for the same case.

Meanwhile, the prison authorities have denied the educational leave that anarchist prisoner Nikos Romanos won with his hunger strike.

Several thousand kilometers away in Chile the comrades Nataly, Juan and Guillermo began a hunger strike to demand, among other things, the  release of their comrade Enrique Guzman. They ended their hunger strike after the release of Enrique. But then four days later, the bastard prison authorities overturned their decision and returned the comrade to Santiago prison.

We for our part know that we cannot expect anything from our persecutors. Our solidarity with the unrepentant anarchists is continuous and aggressive and smashes down all forms of deprivation of liberty.

Until they are free we stand in complicity alongside the armed anarchist guerrillas.

Revenge or nothing.

Chile: Anarchist comrade detained for carrying an explosive device

During the morning of August 1st, 2015, anarchist comrade Ignacio Munoz Delgado age 20 was arrested. Plainclothes police officers performing preventive controls in the community of Lo Prado in Santiago saw a suspicious person dressed in black riding a bike and decided to arrest them on the corner of Camino de Loyola and Sergio Valdovinos avenues.

Police say they found an improvised explosive device in Ignacio's possession that consisted of a canister filled with about a kilo of black powder with a fuse attached to it. They also say they found pamphlets expressing solidarity with the comrades who were arrested for the arson attack against the PDI (Homicide Investigation Brigade). The pamphlets contained the following text:

"As long as the cops keep hostages and think that they are immune from attack the attacks will keep getting closer to the filthy city life. This is just a small taste of what is to come.

Amaru, Natalia, Manuel, Felipe and Maria Paza.

The bastard children of the street!"

Ignacio was taken to number 44 police station where police took DNA samples from him. The mercenary scavengers of the state, the press cameramen were present however the comrade kept his head held high and spat defiantly as he passed them.

The case was taken by the Southern District's alleged bombings specialist who decided to formally charge the comrade with possession of an explosive device as well as carrying a knife. It is still unclear whether the comrade will be charged under the arms control law or the anti-terrorism law.

The Fifth Court ruled that there will be a 5 month investigative period in addition to preventive detention for the comrade who remains held hostage inside Santiago Prison Number 1.

Insurgent solidarity with Ignacio Munoz!

Neither anti-terrorist laws nor arms control law, Ignacio to the streets!

Chile: Update on the case against anarchist comrades Juan, Nataly & Enrique

On Sunday August 2, 2015 Prosecutor Raul Guzman and the miserable Claudio Orellana from the Southern District Attorney's office decided to orchestrate a new maneuver against the comrades Juan, Nataly and Enrique.

This time the pompous theatrics were centered on realizing a 'crime scene reconstruction' with the presence of diligent witnesses and 'victims' of  the attack that took place on September 8, 2014 at the Subcentro outside Escuela Militar metro station in Santiago.

Neither Juan, Nataly or Enrique were present at the reconstruction but there were a large number of plaintiff attorneys accompanying 18 of the 22 victims. The Office of the Prosecutor sought to coach each of the victims regarding where they were positioned at the time of the explosion to ensure that all of their testimonies are consistent at the upcoming trial.

The performance lasted over 5 hours with prosecutors, lawyers, the police and the press all serenading the victims and offering threatening condemnations against the imprisoned comrades.

Finally, as the day was finishing, the opportunistic and mercenary Maria Elena Santibanez, a lawyer from the Legal Clinic who initiated the individual lawsuits against the comrades presented a new claim from a 'victim' who has now decided to be part of the lawsuits.

Juan, Nataly and Enrique to the streets!

Abolish the anti-terrorism act and abolish all laws of the police state!

Chile: Update on anarchist comrades Javier Pino & Natalia 'Tato' Collado

A hearing was held at the main courthouse in Santiago on July 28th against the anarchist comrades Javier Pino and Natalia 'Tato' Collado who are both accused of burning down a Transantiago bus

Comrades in solidarity tried to enter the courtroom to support the comrades however the judge and the prosecution took offence at the disorderly nature and appearance of the solidaritarians and ordered that the hearing take place behind closed doors with only the presence of relatives permitted.

Outside the courthouse a rowdy solidarity demonstration ensued. Two banners were unfurled, leaflets were distributed and slogans were shouted through megaphones to let the comrades know they were not alone. The police and special security forces intervened and a fight broke out with the solidaritarians standing their ground refusing to bow down throwing kicks and punches and spitting at the authorities. The authorities resorted to using batons and capsicum spray. The clashes continued into the court building itself and ended with 6 comrades detained. Two women comrades were formally charged with public disorder offences and cited to appear at the local police courts and the other four comrades were taken to the number 12 police station in Santiago for 'routine' identity checks. All the comrades were released in the afternoon.

As for the hearing...Tato and Javier were formally charged under article 14-D for 'detonating an incendiary device on public transport' which comes under the Arms Control Law. Such crimes have sentences ranging between 10 and 15 years. The investigation period was re-opened as the defense have new measures to deal with at the moment with no fixed days to investigate.

Active solidarity with all comrades in the anti-prison network!

Strength to the comrades Tato and Javier, No aggression will go unanswered!

Comrade Natalia 'Tato' Collado transferred to isolation module

We have been informed that the comrade Tato was transferred after a visit on July 27 from her module, apparently as a mean to punish her for her attitude of disrespect and contempt for the prison institution and it's circus officials and for her relationship of affinity and comradeship with comrade Nataly with who she had been shaking the walls and the morale of the jailers. Currently comrade Tato is being held indefinitely in punishment and isolation Module 1.

We also inform you that on July 28 a judge ordered that only close relatives were allowed to attend the hearing to determine how long the kidnapping of our comrades continued. Obviously this measure ignited the anger of non-family comrades and led to clashes with gendarmes and police.

We will not allow provocations and aggressions to go unanswered!

We will not let the whims of judges, prosecutors and prison guards determine the lives of our comrades!

Down with the patriarchal, techno-industrial and anthropocentric prison society!

Tato and Javi to the street or wherever they want!

Chile: Anarchist comrade Sergio Alvarez is in custody

The anarchist comrade Sergio Alvarez was arrested on Wednesday, July 15 following clashes between encapuchados (hooded ones) and police outside the University of Chile in Santiago. After being beaten and spending the night in the cells of democracy, the comrade was taken to the so-called 'Justice Center' and paraded as a trophy for the cameras of the journalistic carrion. As he passed the cameras, guarded by the police but with his head held high, Sergio yelled: "The war continues, long live anarchy!"

After formally charging Sergio for possession of an incendiary device, disorder and assaulting police the judge decided to place the comrade under a 3 month house arrest for the duration of the pre-trial investigation. However following an appeal by the prosecution, Sergio was taken to Santiago Prison Number 1 on Wednesday July 27.

Sergio's arrest occurred in the context of a series of many arrests of juveniles accused of participating in clashes between encapuchados and police outside universities.

Sergio has refused the 'young student victim of a set-up' stance and has instead positioned himself as an anti-authoritarian individual in confrontation with the power and roles imposed by the dominant order.

To learn more directly about the situation you can email laguerracontinua@riseup.net - you can also send words of greeting and solidarity to Sergio at this email and they will be passed on to the comrade.

And now we share with you the words of comrade Sergio and call for the unleashing of rebellious solidarity and the elimination of silence and inaction.

THE WAR CONTINUES!
LONG LIVE ANARCHY!

******

Well, the beginning is always complicated, but this isn't one precisely...

On Wednesday July 15 I was arrested at the University of Chile in the context of street fighting outside the university. Rather than talk about what contributed to my arrest or provide an update on my trial (there will be plenty of time for that), I feel it is more important to clarify and reaffirm my position - the position I made very clear when I shouted it to the journalist carrion who tried to make a trophy out of me.

I am not a victim, nor will I now take any kind of cooler or lukewarm position nor will I engage in repentant blinking and forget the fires of combat. I am neither somebody who fights for improvement or reform to make existence bearable within this system, nor will the system claim me as a student or a worker. I am an anarchic individual who seeks confrontation against those who hold, represent and defend the Authority and any manifestation of it's domination of every aspect of my life and that of my comrades; the eternal desire to expropriate my life and to nurture individually and collectively antagonism towards the citizen resignation and submission.

For now I have no more to say about the maelstrom of my thoughts, feelings and sensations. With all my love I hope to reconnect with everybody soon.

NEVER DEFEATED, NEVER REPENTANT!

THE WAR CONTINUES!

LONG LIVE ANARCHY!

Puerto Montt, Chile: FREEDOM IS ALSO FORGED IN THE ATTACK!

Insurrection News received and translated:

As one more way to reach out to the dignified companions captured for different offensive actions against the Dominion, it's structures and defenders; and also as a way to break the monotony of the grey citizen city-prison, on Tuesday June 29 we hung a banner from Petorca bridge in Puerto Montt, Chile which said:

Complicity with anarchist and nihilist prisoners
FREEDOM IS ALSO FORGED IN THE ATTACK
Tamara - Juan - Naty - Guillermo - Tato - Javier - Monica - Francisco

To them and to all the other comrades imprisoned in recent times by the bloodthirsty Chilean state and in particular, the comrade Sergio Alvarez (Who is dignified and publicly rejects any victimhood stance) we send an anarchic hug!

Strength and solidarity to you, your friends and your loved ones!

Chile: Update on the case of the comrades Javier Pino and Natalia Collado

Now that the investigative period is over and we await the hearing date for Javier Pinto and Natalia Collado, as a close group of friends we wanted to inform and disclose how our comrades were accused of burning a Transantiago bus three months ago and were taken from us.

THE FACTS

In the early morning of April 7, at the corner of Ecuador and Concon, located in the community of Estación Central, the darkness was interrupted with the scene of a burning route 210 Transantiago bus that was completely consumed by fire.

Minutes later Natalia Collado (Tato) and Javier Pino were arrested in Alameda, outside USACH (University of Santiago Chile) and detained on suspicion as their appearance allegedly coincided with descriptions given to the police by the bus driver who reported the fire.

The comrades were taken to Central Police Station 21 where they were told that the bus driver recognized them as two people who boarded the bus without paying at the corner of Alameda and Cumming and left a bag in the back seat before exiting from the rear door of the bus. Tato and Javier were then transferred to the BIPE (Police Brigade of Special Investigations) where they both had DNA samples forcibly taken from them. By now relatives, close friends and comrades who had heard about the arrest began to demonstrate out the front in solidarity with both comrades. Also as usual, the press began to appear in order to caputre the faces of our comrades for the television cameras. The following morning as they were taken to court Javier yelled at the press "Down with anthropocentric patriarchal society!"

The court extended the detention of the comrades for three days so that the police could gather more evidence. At the hearing held three days later, the bus driver's statement was presented as the main piece of evidence. The prosecution also stated that the possibility of an electrical failure in the bus accelerator causing the fire had been ruled out. The judge then formalized the charge of placing an incendiary device on public transport which comes under the arms control laws. The prosecution applied for a 90 day investigative period during which the comrades would be kept in custody and the judge allowed this saying that there were no concrete reasons to reject the application.

Javier was taken to module 11 at Santiago Prison Number 1 while Tato was transferred to the women's prison of San Miguel where she remained in isolation for several days before being transferred to the public connotation module (general population).

Natalia Collado and Javier Pino

From the beginning Tato and Javier openly expressed their view of life as a daily confrontation with the system that is imposed by civilization and openly defended the feelings that emerge from the heart when you decide to break the social monotony.

They refuse to claim a position of either guilt or innocence of the charges, choosing instead to use their lives as a praxis of comtempt and deconstruction of social logic, assuming that  we live in a patriarchal, antropocentric, authoritarian and speciest world that looks with scorn upon all those who believe that life is something much more than cement.

There are those with a deep love of nature who dare to build new forms of social relationships and who constantly question the moral values learned from childhood even if it results in more failures than successes. Because every decision that on the surface seems harmless such as dietary choice, empathizing with the land and the various beings that inhabit it, the daily respect for the environment, the difficult deconstruction of patriarchy from the depths of relationships, choosing not to go to a hospital, living a self-managed life, finding new ways of learning - to name just a few things, can make it practically impossible to passively coexist with the dominant social order.

This is why their hearts are still beating with the pulse of untamed nature despite being locked behind the cold prison walls. From the beginning of their ordeal they have remained steadfast but without underestimating the impact of imprisonment. It is also important to note that the comrades are in two very different prison contexts.

For Javier the food situation has been difficult as before his arrest he was eating only raw, unrefined food. In Santiago Prison Number 1 this diet cannot be obtained even if you are vegan so one is forced by necessity to eat certain foods. Javier has also kept his long hair despite constant harassment from the gendarmes. It is also important to note that Javier has been unable to access 'recreational' activities such as playing ball. He has been able to use wood carving materials however it took a long time for these materials to reach him in the module due to all of the formalities involved.

Tato has been able to access more of a variety of prepared foods. At first she was sharing a cell with the comrade Tamara Farias Sol Vergara but Tamara was transferred and she is now sharing a cell with Nataly Casanova. Prison conditions in San Miguel Women's Prison are different to Santiago Prison and she has been able to receive craft and drawing materials as well as a variety of books and magazines.

These have been difficult months during the investigative period and the monotony of prison life make the time seem to pass even slower. During their detention Javier and Tato have expressed their feelings through public statements and have stood in solidarity with other imprisoned comrades by fasting or releasing statements. They have had to face the nightmare of imprisonment head on but have emerged with new questions, thoughts and feelings that have reaffirmed their beliefs.

After more than two months since their arrest they have been allowed one inter-prison visit with each other. This can be permitted once a month according to a behavior assessment determined by the gendarmerie.

Legal Status

On Friday June 26 a hearing was held and a new public defender was assigned who announced that the comrades were refusing to cooperate with the official investigation.

As a result of the hearing, Javier was given permission to regularly receive dried fruits and nutritional supplements. In addition, the comrades were granted a five minute visit with their new lawyer in the court cells after the hearing. And finally Javier allowed a doctor to check on his cracked rib which he had been nursing for two months because he was not willing to receive any assistance.

After close to two months in custody, Tato and Javier gained access to the investigative folder that contains the evidence to be presented against them. The bus driver's statement is still the only piece of evidence against them.

Despite the legal situation and the constant friction with lawyers both comrades are calmly waiting to be given the date for their next hearing.

Although their daily dealings with the gendarmerie have been hostile from the beginning, Tato and Javier have remained steadfast with the support of their loved ones. At first they were closely monitored and classified as prisoners who posed a risk of escaping but these conditions have now been eased. Even so, co-existance with the cops will always be difficult since neither comrade is prepared to resign or bow down to ill-treatment.

From outside we support our comrades with hearts full of love and the certainty that the howl of the pack crosses any wall. Therefore we remain complicit in affinity and solidarity with Javier Pino and Natalia Collado. By strengthening ties, through constant growth and learning with our comrades with more force so that every gesture of affection is a little heat to reach their hearts this winter.

As we wait for the next hearing date we send all our love to our comrades.

JAVIER AND TATO TO THE STREETS!!

Group of comrades and friends.
