Spain: Pre-trial detention of anarchist prisoners Monica Caballero & Francisco Solar extended
Received on 29.10.15 (slightly edited for clarity):
On Tuesday 27 a court case was held where it was decided if they extend the pre-trial detention of Monica and Francisco or to release them on bail pending trial. Bail was rejected and their detention has been extended.
Although the Spanish legislation provides for two years as the maximum time a person can remain in pre-trial detention, the State has the possibility to extend it (arguing some sort of exception in the case) beyond two years, and has done so.
Two years ago, on 13 November 2013 the two comrades were arrested along with three others. Monica and Francisco are awaiting trial on charges of belonging to a terrorist organization and conspiracy to cause havoc.
The same day as the court's resolution, 9 more anarchists were detained in a new blow to the anarchist movement. In Barcelona and Manresa ten warrants were served on houses and social spaces.
Despite this we just have to roll with the punches and keep going, showing our comrades that they are not alone and that our solidarity will not cease.
THEY CAN ARREST US, BUT CANNOT STOP US!
FREEDOM FOR ALL ANARCHIST PRISONERS!
SOLIDARITY WITH THE ARRESTED!
WE WANT OUR COMRADES IN THE STREET NOW!
Spain: Comrades arrested in Barcelona and Manresa with accusations of 'terrorism'
From 6AM the Gossos* d'Esquadra (Catalan regional police) under orders from the Audiencia Nacional (National Court) raided private homes of anarchists and social spaces in Barcelona (Gracia, Sants and Sant Andreu neighborhood) and Manresa. According to corporate media poisoning the mass arrests are a continuation of Operation Pandora against what the police and the judges believe are the GAC (Coordinated Anarchist Groups) whom they accuse of being responsible for the attacks claimed by anarchist groups during the years 2012 and 2013. (It should be recalled that last year the State Attorney General stated that 'anarcho-terrorists' no longer have the capacity to attack.)
According to the media, there 9 or 10 detainees, and many others arrested including from the Ateneo Libertario de Sants.
The state is the only terrorist!
Freedom for the arrested anarchists!
*Note: Gosso is a Catalan word for dog. This is what we call the Catalan regional police.

Spain: New phase of Operation Pandora repressions - 9 comrades detained
28.10.15: A police operation began at 7AM this morning raiding several homes and properties in the neighborhoods of Sants, Gràcia, Clot and Sant Andreu de Palomar in the city of Barcelona and Manresa. The police action was ordered by the Audiencia Nacional (National Court) and is a continuation of Operation Pandora, which led to the arrest of ten comrades and the preventative imprisonment of seven of them last December. Among the properties searched were Revoltosa social center on Rogent street in the Clot neighborhood and the l'Ateneu Llibertari de Sants on Maria Victoria street where ten police vans were in attendance. When the news was leaked, dozens of people demonstrated in solidarity and took to the streets of Sants marching behind a banner in support of the detainees. Minutes later as the demonstration reached Masnou street two vans of riot police arrived and proceeded to violently suppress the demonstration.
Searches also took place at a house on Perill street in the neighborhood of Gracia, a house in the neighborhood of Santos and other private homes in Sant Andreu de Palomar. Police made a total of 9 arrests. At every place police raided they encircled the whole street and impeded the free movement of the neighborhood. In details leaked to the press by the police they revealed that the operation led to the arrest of 9 people for the alleged crime of "belonging to a criminal organization with terrorist aims."
In response to the raid a call has gone out for demonstrations at 8:00PM at la Plaça del Diamant de la Vila de Gràcia.

Spain: 20 Rabbits liberated by Animal Liberation Front in solidarity with anarchist prisoners
In recent years in Spain, especially in Catalonia, rabbit farming has been severely affected by the economic crisis and many farms have closed over the past five years.
Several times we have found while observing potential targets that security for the farms have been abandoned.
Similarly we can also verify that the number of Animal Liberation actions in the Spanish state has reduced since the crisis began. This is most likely due to a lack of resources by the people who take part in this struggle along with a migration to other struggles by many people.
But on the night of September 20th, 2015 we abandoned our temporary lethargy and went to a rabbit farm located in the province of Barcelona and liberated 20 animals that were imprisoned in it.
This time it was only 20 but we hope that in the future there will be more actions and that we can free many more animals that are harmed by this murderous industry. We believe that now is the perfect time to strike crushing blows against this industry that has barely survived for several years.
We are aware that this depends on both our organizational capacity and our determination but we have seen effective campaigns that have happened in other places so we believe that we can close the few farms that currently remain.
We dedicate this action to the anarchists who have faced repression by the operations "Pandora" and "Pinata" as well as those accused of belonging to "Commando Mateo Morral."
We also send a warm hug to Evi Statiri, who at the time of this writing has ended her hunger strike due to the Greek authorities accepting her release.

URGENT: 2 SPANISH MEMBERS OF INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE ARRESTED
During this morning, the repressive forces of the Spanish State are carrying out the arrest of the comrades who have been fighting the fascist forces of DAESH (Islamic State) in Rojava. Due to the lack of further information, we ask you for support, solidarity and spreading the message.
The homes of the comrades were searched by investigators of the Provincial Brigade Intelligence Office of the Madrid police. These comrades are two militants of the Partido Marxista-Leninista (Reconstrucción Comunista) that are accused by the police of appearing in this video. Police said that the two activists came into Syria via Turkey and Germany. They are accused of participating in an armed conflict outside Spain without the permission of the State, of collaborating with a terrorist organization (this is probably the PKK – Kurdish People’s Party being described here), use of military weapons and explosive devices, and of seriously undermining Spanish national interests. Reconstrucción Comunista is an organization composed of members of the Communist Youth who have broken with the Partido Comunista de España, PCE. Its founding members initially were active in this organisation before founding their own organization, close to the MLKP (Marksist-Leninist Komünist Partisi – Turkey) in 2009.
WE WANT THE SPANISH MEMBERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE WHO HAVE FOUGHT ISIS TO BE RELEASED WITHOUT CHARGES!
DEFENDING THE CIVIL POPULATION FROM ISIS TERRORIST ATTACKS CAN’T BE PERSECUTED!
FREEDOM FOR THE ANTIFASCIST COMBATANTS!
INTERNATIONALIST SOLIDARITY IS NOT A CRIME!

Spain: Paul, the last comrade imprisoned from Operation Piñata has been released
Spain: On the afternoon of Friday June 19, Paul, the last of the comrades who were imprisoned from the Operation Piñata police repressions was released from prison on conditional bail. Like the rest of the comrades Paul is still facing charges. While this is great news it should be remembered that the comrades are all about to endure the process of a trial in the courts. Also we should not forget all of the other anarchist comrades facing repression both inside and outside the dungeons of the Spanish state.
Solidarity with Monica and Francisco!
Fire to the prisons!

June 13: Day Of International Solidarity With Anarchists In Spain

The last few years have seen an increasing wave of repression against Anarchists and other radicals, here in Spain, best characterized by the police operations Pandora and Piñata. Acting in response to movements, uprisings and upheavals across the country, particularly in Cataluña, the state has arrested dozens of comrades, often under the pretext of anti-terrorism. The result has been to foster a climate of fear and in-action.
While most of those held in pre-trial detention have been released, all still have pending charges. Now is our moment to show that their attempts to silence us will not work, and that such action will not pass by without retaliation.
The 13th of June is a day of action and solidarity for all those facing charges, in relation to these police operations and others. On this day, in Barcelona there will be a combative demonstration, and in Madrid there will start the beginning of a campaign. We are calling for solidarity and support from international comrades, in whatever form they feel is feasible and appropriate.

Spain: National Court orders closure of Operation Pandora solidarity bank accounts
Barcelona, Spain, 01.06.15: Upon the request of the Information Brigade of the National Police the National Court has issued an order signed by judge Eloy Velasco that orders the closure of solidarity bank accounts that were opened for comrades who were arrested and detained during the Operation Pandora repressions. The judge has also ordered an investigation into the owners of the accounts as well as all transfers and transactions related to the accounts.
This is yet another escalation in the Spanish state's war against dissent and the anarchist movement in particular. Not only is the state attempting to criminalize the anarchist movement it is also seeking to characterize it as a 'terrorist' movement and to label those who merely show basic solidarity as being 'terrorist sympathizers.'
Strength and solidarity to the anarchists in Spain facing repression from the Spanish police state!

Spain: Ticket machines destroyed at Barcelona metro station
11.05.15: A group of hooded activists entered Palau Reial metro station in Barcelona and destroyed ticket validating machines and ticket sales machines as well as painting slogans against exorbitant public transport fares and in favor of free public transport. The activists also distributed copies of a leaflet to commuters denouncing recent fare increases and calling for free public transport before exiting the station. The action was over very quickly without any intervention from the authorities or arrests being made. Unfortunately the destruction of the machines was not total and one of the validating machines was still operational however the ticket selling machines were completely disabled until the following day. There was no coverage of the action by any Spanish mainstream media or any comment or statement from TMB (Transport Barcelona).
