Greece: Text by anarchist prisoner Angeliki Spyropoulou in memory of Mauricio Morales

Note: Mauricio Morales was a young anarchist from Chile who was killed in 2009 when the explosive device he was carrying en route to the prison guard school in Santiago exploded prematurely.

When memory becomes a weapon…
Real life belongs to those who, unwilling to accept any restrictions or chain, arm their desires with strength and courage, follow the instincts and impulses that bloom in them and search for absolute freedom. To those who cast themselves into the abyss and at the same time, are launched to the stars. Such paths are as charming as they are uncertain. These people, unlike the cowardly masses, prefer a life with intensity, regardless of how long will it last. So, having lived with fullness, they can accept their death when the time comes.

Six years ago, the black veil of death covered such a mananarchist Mauricio Morales. Today, it is proved that neither time nor distance are able to make us forget. It is very important not to get stuck between oblivion and the anniversary ceremony. Comrades like Mauricio Morales remind us of the importance of the continuation of the war we declared against all aspects of the modern civilized world and its morality.

There is no worse death than the one without a cause, the one that is not covered by the wings of an idea and an idea that becomes a dangerous practice, such as the one we shared with Mauricio. As long as we breathe and remain consistent, we prove that tragic losses like his are not without a cause, as long as the fire that burns our heart and leads our minds, the same fire that burned within him too, still burns, then our dead will live through us, through our actions. They will be those bright stars that will accompany each of us, the nights when our negations will become conscious choices and these, in turn, will become actions…

Transforming rage into attack…

Now and forever…
